Workplace

Good and organized workplace is something that I finally have, but that was not always the case. First when I started I had a small apartment room that I was struggling with, especially with the organization of it. In general small room of 6m2 can be sufficient when you are starting but as the time pass by the amount of tools and molds also increases, a bigger workplace becomes a must.

That is what I've now (see picture), I have a big workplace with beautiful custom made (by me) workbenches. Cabinetmaker workbench is rather expensive and clumsy for guitarbuilding. That is the reason why I bought beech plates and oak balk for the legs. For me it was important that the workbench is heavy and slightly higher in order to be able to work as much as possible upright.

Besides a good and solid workbench it is important to have sufficient tools. In general tools are not that expensive, but certain kind of tools like bandsaw, drumsander and sawtable can be expensive. Most of tools I've bought but some I've made myself (like drumsander, see picture bellow on the right side).

For every guitar model I build a mold (see left side picture). De mold is used to shape the soundboard but also as a workbench for sides and back. I've build different molds for different guitar models (Classical guitar, Stealstring Small Jumbo and Maccaferri model).
